Typically, damaged or worn out
energy recovery wheels (rotors) are buried within air-handling units
with limited access to and from the equipment location. Removal
requires cutting the failed wheel and surrounding sheet metal into
small pieces for removal from the building through standard doorways.
In turn, replacement components must also be easily carried into the
building.
The Airxchange FA Series was created to
answer this need. Units from 5500 cfm to 36,000 cfm are available in
factory-tested kits and are provided with our standard 5-year warranty.
In order to insure proper
assembly and installation, Airxchange will coordinate the project with
your contractor and will supply supervision of the assembly of our
component on the job site.
A typical job starts with the removal of the failed rotor and cassette
assembly by a local contractor. An Airxchange factory technician then
supervises the assembly and installation of the replacement energy
recovery component in the vacated space along with help from the local
contractor. Minor sheet metal repair and replacement is usually
required to complete the installation. Airxchange factory supervision
remains on the job until the wheel is turning and functioning as
designed.
